🏆 Big exciting adventure: athletes vs. casino! 🎲 The Betzies is a 2D animated project commissioned by Mad Entertainment, built around a fast-paced story that brings together athletes, gamblers, and a mysterious golden egg. The story follows Kingpin and his gambling gang as they attempt to steal Betzibor from the village square and escape toward the Golden Egg Casino, setting off a pursuit led by Mr. White and his team. Artafen developed the project from the client’s story into a complete animated production. The work began with character design, concept art, and storyboarding, establishing the personalities, environments, and visual direction needed to translate the narrative into an expressive 2D animation. The studio handled the production across multiple stages, including direction, frame-by-frame animation, clean-up, color design, effects animation, compositing, sound design, music composition, and editing. The character-focused approach allowed the animation to emphasize expressive poses, movement, and the distinct personalities of the story’s characters. The production showcase presents a selection of character development sketches, visual exploration, and production frames created throughout the process. Together, these materials reveal how the project evolved from early visual concepts into a finished animated sequence. The music featured in the production showcase was created as a temporary musical interpretation rather than the final soundtrack, with a jazz-oriented approach used to explore the intended atmosphere and rhythm of the piece.
